Woven Studios is inspired by the act of weaving in that it means unity, two parts of a whole, and individual threads that are stronger together. Woven is committed to creating sustainably, connecting communities through art, and delivering one-of-a-kind paintings, jewelry, and more to you and yours.

Hi! My name is Kate Timbes, and I'm the owner and artist behind the world of Woven Studios! I graduated from Wofford College in 2023 with a BA in Studio Art, Business, and Film and Digital Media.

As an interdisciplinary artist based in the Carolinas who has carried the gift of creating art since adolescence, I spend my months teaching, jewelry-making, painting small canvases or big murals, making paper, and coiling small chairs. It all began in 2018, when I took my first commission as an artist. Fast-forward eight years, a degree, six murals, and a hundred commissions later, I am now pursuing my art full-time!

After graduating Wofford in 2023, I moved to Southern Germany to work for the Department of Defense, exposing myself to a whole new world of challenges, beauty, history, and culture. Outside of work, I spent two years embedded in the German Alps learning to ski, feeding the cows, and carrying a camera through the alleys, nooks, and overlooks of Europe.

summer activity: summit the Zugspitze! The tallest mountain in Germany!

winter activity: that's me learning to ski on the Zugspitze!

In 2025, I returned to the United States to focus on my art. At the time I had no idea where to start or what that may look like, so I started to build. This year has been about the art of transition, as I exhibited my first solo show in California, painted my sixth mural in Greenville, SC, joined Zero Space Artist Collective, and embarked on a six-week work-study at Arrowmont School of Craft in TN, and ultimately fell in love with making art again. I'm passionate about engaging with my communities through art, fueling these connections by teaching papermaking workshops, painting stories, and creating murals across South Carolina and one in Copenhagen, Denmark. My time spent in Europe, the US, and South Africa and the stories I experienced and learned breathe through the beads and photographs that feed my paintings The paintings and jewelry in the store are inspired by my photographs and time spent in bead stores across Europe, the US, and South Africa.
